Adult/Teen Summer Reading ~ Travel Greene County...and Beyond

August is here...and with it brings our Adult/Teen Summer Reading @ the Linton Public Library!  As with everything else in 2020, we have decided to shake things up just a little bit and change things around. 

We love seeing all of you! However, we know that right now, many people are being very careful when leaving their homes. 🏡🚗🏢

In trying to honor that, and encourage Greene County tourism, we have changed this year's program to keep library visits to a bare minimum.  We have two different ways to play this summer.

One way is to pick up a Greene County Tourism Map, and start visiting any of the historical, arts, innovation, natural or recreational destinations you find on the map. Snap a photo of yourself with the destination in the photo. 📷📷📷  Post it on our Facebook or Instagram page, send us an email (lintonpl@lintonpl.lib.in.us) with it attached ~ Just find a way to show us you have visited the place! You will get a ticket for each place you have a photo to document it.

The other way is to pick up "Travel Greene County...and Beyond" bookmark at the library, and read books in the categories listed on the bookmark. Return the bookmark to us on, or before, Friday, September 11th with your books listed on the bookmark, your name and phone number. You will get a ticket for every book listed.

General Directions

· Sign up begins on July 13th for the Adult Summer Reading Program. Come in the library, or call, to sign up.  SRP will begin on Monday, August 3rd and end on Friday, September 11^th. Drawing will be on Monday, September 14th.  

 

    Two Different Ways to Play (or combo of both)

 

1. Pick up a Greene County Tourism Map at any Greene County library, city/town halls, as well as Linton Chamber Office, GCEDC Office, GC Foundation Office, & West Gate Academy.  Visit any of the places listed on map, snap a photo of you at that location. Post it on Facebook/Instagram (tagging yourself). A ticket will be entered for each Greene County tourist spot you visit.

2. Pick up a  SRP Bookmark at the library.  Read a book from the bookmark challenge. Write it down on bookmark. At end of  6 weeks, turn in your bookmark with your name/phone number. A ticket will be entered for each book you read.

3. Combination of Both ~ You can participate by doing either activity, or both.

**You will only need to come into the library to pick up/drop off the bookmark. However, we can make accommodations if you are not quite comfortable coming into the library yet.

 

                                                  Reading Requirements

Books must be as chosen on the bookmark. They must be a YA or Adult book of 200 pages or more.  Books on CD must be a minimum of at least 2 or more CD’s.
